am considering a knife in this I have heard very hard to sharpen does anyone have experience with it

What knife and what is your sharpening method?

S90V is typically harder to sharpen than other stainless steels with less Vanadium in them - but any diamond hone should still make relatively short work of the task.
i have a Lansky with 3 diamond hones

It will take as fine an edge as you (or your stones) are capable of, and hold that edge for a long time assuming you don't go too thin on your edge angle.

I think CPM-S90V is under appreciated. It outshines many other knife steels. I have several and have not had any sharpening issues, but I'm not sharpening my knives to be razors, so it doesn't take too long to put a working edge on them.

If I recall Larrin's charts correctly, it has the best potential toughness to edge retention balance of the super high wear resistance stainless steels, so compared to S110V, M398, etc.

I generally don't let my knives get very dull, but overall the CPM-S90V in my ZT 0095BLK has not been overly difficult.
