I have just seen these SANRENMU Pocket Folding Knives on ebay.
Any experience or comments?
Thanks,
Jerry

They're good, well-made knives, especially given their very low price point. The Sanrenmu 710 (a drop-point framelock) is particularly popular around here. If you see one that catches your eye, I'd say go ahead and give it a shot.

Ditto.

Can't go wrong with 710. Been EDCing 763 & 605.

Almost all their models are right on the money, for the money. ;)

Exduct.com has a great selection.

I have two 710's, a normal one and one with camo scales. Bought them each for about 15 euros and I think they're good quality knives for that price. They feel solid and well built. I don't know about the blade steel, but for only 15 euros I don't care very much about that.

The knives are well made. If you want a real surprise, pick up a Bee L05. Probably the best value for the dollar there is.

If possible, dont't get the black coated blades, I found them more difficult to get it sharp (my free hand seems to make them 25-30 inclusive). Perhpas the coating process soften the blade temper.

Other than that, I'm satisfied.
Enlan EL01 K EL02 are my big knife favorites. For EDC, 763 is a great slicer, small but wide, gives it enough belly. None of this is a copy of any existing model.

Navy is also a good chinese company to look at, been EDC'ing my Navy K-631 for about a month now

I have a few Sanrenmus and they are nice enough. In fact you may wonder why pay more for the entry level china-made series of a western brand, as they could well be made by Sanrenmu at the same quality standard.

If you are interested, I linked these reviews of mine elsewhere on the forum:
105. Sanrenmu part 1: SRM 710, 702 & 962
106. Sanrenmu part 2: SRM 728, 4730 & 1723
107. Sanrenmu part 3: SRM 905 & 939
108. Sanrenmu part 4: SRM 763 & 785
109. Sanrenmu part 5: SRM 738 & AOH02

My favourites are:
- 710, good small utility, sturdy enough. Looks a bit like a Sebenza, which may or may not be a good thing to your taste.
- 763, a really interesting and ergonomic utility knife, with a clerverly integrated bottle opener in the spine of the blade. I prefer the variant with metal handle
- 738, a truly lovely and lovingly made modern gentlemen design. Also makes a perfect and affordable gift.

Sanrenmu makes the CRKT drifter for CRKT... They sell the exact same knife, the GB9-707, for 12 dollars... crkt sells the drifter for 18ish. I have also heard that Sanrenmu makes the spyderco tenacious for spyderco, but I'm not positive about that one. I know for a fact they make the drifter for crkt.

I just got the 763 in the mail today, only took 12 days. I got it from ebay 6.80 plus 6.50 shipping. I love it so far, the axis lock is exactly like my benchmade and the size and weight is perfect for edc (nice deep pocket clip too). Not cheap feeling at all, strong sturdy g-10 and impressive fit and finish, not a 7.00 knife imo more like 30ish. I also have the 710 in SS on order should be here in less than a week, I can't wait. I would recommend Sanrenmu to anybody who wants something affordable, this is not an inferior knife.

You might also want to check on Enlan, Navy, and Bee knives. They are all in the same Sanrenmu company family. I have a Bee L05-1 and I love it to death. The Enlan EL02 is pretty sweet as well and can be found on the bay. I have a Navy K603 and I was disappointed with it. I was impressed with the 440C steel but the overall construction of the knife felt cheap.

Serenmu needs to start making their own designs then I start to consider them a reputable knife company.

Three good recommendations from the estimable Mr. Dagon.

His vid-reviews are top notch.

Most of their designs are their own. Yes, the 710 looks somewhat like a Sebenza and the 702 like a certain Klotzli. They also offer some knives which you can buy rebranded as western brands over here, for example the Buck Nobleman, or a certain Böker Magnum, or an entry level Fox, etc.

In any case, the 763 and 738 have no western equivalent, and they are both very convincing, even sceptics could be impressed.
