Okay, I hope someone can help me. I'm looking for a unique pair of sap gloves (gloves with weighted fists; usually lead powder, shot, or sand). I own a pair made by J&L (best ones I've seen, and very reasonably priced!) that look like regular gloves with a puffy knuckle section. The kind I'm looking for don't look like regular gloves at all. To be honest, they look kinda' like abowling glove and they lace up on the bottom. Those who know what I'm looking fo will, ummm, know what I'm looking for, I guess :p ! If anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it! (don't worry, I don't plan on using them on anyone; I just collect this kind of stuff)

Sounds like the sort of gloves Glenn Danzig used to wear...I'll start looking and see what I can find.

ednemo,
You are exactly right (except I don't want 'em with the big Danzig skulls on top)! Interesting note. My best friend, Jim, actually produced Danzig's video for "Wicked Pussycat". Jim had no experience, but was a huge fan and worked for the FX company that made the gloves Glenn Danzig is wearing now. Jim's boss at the time called Glenn and told him about Jim, and the rest is history. Jim came in under budget, which Glenn really liked. Glenn's one bit of advice for Jim: "You work too hard. You have a budget so you can delegate some of the small tasks." Jim did EVERYTHING on his own! Regardless of his cocky, tough guy persona, Jim said he was a really cool guy and very professional. Anywho, thanks for the help with the gloves! Let me know what ya' find out!

Hellstorm makes a nice set called the Lightfinger. Check them out here

I'm still looking for the lace-up versions.

If those LightFighter gloves were weighted instead of padded they'd be awesome! Thanks again for the help!

AFAIK, the Hellstorm gloves are padded not steel shot. The Hatch Defender has 8oz of steel shot.

just from curiousity..

what do weighted gloves do?

i'm assuming, just for hittin' people?

Midget,
That would be correct. That is exactly what they are for. They also protect the back of your hand during a, shall we say, situation.

I've seen the Hatch weighted gloves, but decide to go with a pair of fingerless SAP gloves made by J&L. They are less expensive and, frankly, I feel that they are better quality (still want some of the lace up gloves if I can find them, though). J&L has some great self defense products, great prices, and great service! Check 'em out!
