Maroon is my fav... But the new green is no slouch!I think of all the color available, the maroon is the prettiest.
The rest are like 8-9's, but that maroon is a 10.
For what it's worth, I got the green.

Heads up.
Two SawManDu available on Arizona Custom Knives. Maroon and tan
How well does it work as a saw???
Pretty well overall. Very well considering it’s an almost quarter inch thick knife. Not as efficient as a thin saw blade, but also not gonna break.
Before use I decided to give it a hot vinegar bath.

Pretty hard seasoned oak - green pine in background was chopped with the sharp side - very nice chopper...

Interestingly, it did much better on the dry, hard wood. Didn’t bind as much and due to the weight of the blade, it would cut slowly without any downward pressure - pretty cool.

Well, I just went to the Arizona site, and grabbed one. Y’all are a bad influence! Off to the market now to stock up on a month’s supply of Ramen and cheap domestic beer.
Unlikely, considering this mention in the OP:Are there any plans for making this a regular offering?
Haven’t had a chance to get mine dirty, yet, but I did oil the micarta to see how it would look...
I’ll admit it never occurred to me to use the SMD as a steak knife. You must be a Big Ol’ Hauger for real!!I’m going to bring the SMD with me, and cut some steaks.
