The grind does differ a lot from my eräpuu leuku. It's new to me so I'll see how it works over time. Those stromeng leuku's strike me as kind of dangerous. They have a very short scandi grind that in my experience, easily deflects if you don't strike it at the right angle. Was making tent pegs once and damn near buried it into my leg. Outside of that they are great, particularly the open ended ferrule design... but if I owned one again I would definitely blend those prounounced cheeks and bring the grind up higher.

I can't stand steep scandi grinds... For a lot of reasons.
It's weirdly short and steep with pronounced shoulders. Me no likey.
Then again I complain about leukus a lot, in particular the handles which I find too thin. I'm guessing they are designed to be used with gloves, in which case that makes sense.
Very cool. What type of blade is it?
It's a fat, obtuse wedge that has no penetrative ability and acts as training wheels for people who aren't good at making feathersticks. They're quick and easy to grind which means less time spent on each knife, which means less labor cost, and require no particular skill to grind.
Ray Mears ruined everything.
Yes, I am a little angry about it.
The lauri blanks are better than the stromeng by a large margin, but they still need their shoulders blended.
Très cool. De quel type de lame s'agit-il ?
