I have a question about a knife I have in my 70s-80s folding hunter collection: I recall as a kid these knives were the entry level or workhorse folders among those being popularized at the time (even Bo and Luke Duke had a folder strapped to their belts).
My first or introduction was one I bought off my uncle who was an avid collector, a Queen Steel #39 Winterbottom.
But this particular 125OT is stainless, and not the carbon steel models I remember from the mid to late 1970s. Tang is two-lines, Schrade, then under, USA 125OT.
I suppose my question is two-part, I'm assuming the stainless blade is post 1970s? Also, its missing (otherwise in beautiful condition) a brass pin on the upper back side of the scales, and its also missing the Old Timer brass inlay tag.
I have no sentimental value in this knife, and I realize its subjective to even ask if its worth repairing, but does anyone know where I can obtain an old brass inlay tag? I've contacted Schrade and they sent me a new Chinese replacement, but obviously they don't do refurbished work any longer now that its outsourced.
Anyone have a recommendation?
