Picked this up at a thrift store. Probably paid too much (much cheaper on e-bay). I have some questions. What does SCProm-16-13S mean? Is that a model number. It is on both blades. There is no made in label anywhere. What's up with that? Any other comments on these would be appreciated. I did a general search on the internet and had lots of hits for sets like this but most had wood handles, only one had handles like these and they weren't the same knives.

Those are Chinese made Taylor Brands knives.

The REAL Schrade company went bankrupt in mid 2004.

And actually it's now Smith&Wesson Brands as they bought out Taylor last year.

The actual Imperial Schrade knife company doesn't exist anymore.

This particular legacy forum is for Imperial Schrade USA knives and all the associated companies going back over 100 years.

Those knives are big chunk on steel though.

I'm gonna guess the SC is Schrade, PROM is promotional 16 is the year and 13S is the model number for that knife package.
