Got to bring these home today. All the motors are the same and 2 gear boxes are the 5:1 and one 30:1. Not sure what the gear boxes will get used for, but my oldest grinder is getting and update and probably 2 disc grinders. One vertical and one horizontal.

Way Cool, seems every time I get a motor with a gearbox I ask the same question
what to do with it. They always get used for something.
Ken.

A 5:1 setup would be great for a slow speed dedicated polishing/sharpening belt grinder. 350RPM would be about 365SFM with a 4" drive wheel. 3" wide belts would be good here. This is also where a felt belt will shine ( pun intended). Add a water drip any it will really be a great specialty tool.

I scored a similar setup from work last spring. I made mine into the wood splitter of death! It cut my splitting time in half this fall.
