Just when I thought things were dead with finds for knives and after losing a spyderco ladybug which I was trying to find another replacement I found this for $5 dollars... Another nice one for the balisong collection.

This is an original vintage butterfly knife, made by Tak Fukuta circa 1980s in Seki, Japan for Dragon-Lock. It features a stainless steel blade, stainless handle with brass liner and latch. Extremely difficult to find today.

Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This is one of these rare finds.

Nice! I found a little something at the flea market too. It's kind of a piece of crap, but it was 10 dollars and I didn't want to pass up a good hawkbill beater.
If my research is correct it's from the late 80's early 90's.
I find it interesting the blending of technologies and the progression it shows in that this knife seems to be a slipjoint held in place by a liner lock.
But again, it was 10 dollars and one of my favorite blade shapes. Quick edge on the grinder and some gun oil and it works just fine now.

Those Imperial Ireland knives were actually pretty good. Wont win any beauty contests but make a good solid user.

I carried a lockback Imperial Ireland about the size of a Buck 112 for quite a while. Never let me down.

Good find

Picked up all of these over the last year or so and I dont even go to flea markets that much. Paid $10 or less for each knife.
