Just when I thought things were dead with finds for knives and after losing a spyderco ladybug which I was trying to find another replacement I found this for $5 dollars... Another nice one for the balisong collection.
This is an original vintage butterfly knife, made by Tak Fukuta circa 1980s in Seki, Japan for Dragon-Lock. It features a stainless steel blade, stainless handle with brass liner and latch. Extremely difficult to find today.
Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This is one of these rare finds.
