I have been trying to find a scotchbrite wheel for my bench grinder for a long time. Scotchbrite/3m product names and all are just impossible to decipher. I have seen them used before I think at one point alec steel was using them, they were referenced on the knifetalk podcast as well. They are like a certain diameter and 2-4ish inches wide. They are soft-looking (not the hard rubber deburring wheels) and they don't look like the combo wheels that have flap sandpaper and scotchbrite mixed. From what I have seen they are used to get a vertical scratch pattern and a nice soft finish on things like guards. This is what I found so far, It is a bit pricy to just gamble on it being what I am looking for but I think it is. Can anyone confirm or further point me in the right direction?

if you're going for a nice conformable scotchbrite wheel try this, they have different grits as well

that's just about exactly it. Do you know if they can be found anywhere wider? like 2+ inches?
This one is about 4 inch long and same Dia. when it was new .I don t like it ,scary to use it on blade .I try once and now I use it for other things not on knives

Try searching "convolute wheel" as well. You may get some more options.
