What is the story?
Are these Busse seconds?
Do they come with a sheath ( what kind )?
I'm looking at the SOD.
Any info or opinions would help.

Thankyou.

I just discovered these myself and don't know much about them, but I really like some of their designs; especially the Scrapyard Muk. Hopefully someone can tell us something about these...

yes Ive been thinking the same questions, their prices are affordable but i would like to know more before i make a purchase.

They are made at the same location as the Busse Combat and Swamprat stuff,
And have the same transferable warranty.
Most of the Scrap stuff is made of SR77, modified S7 steel.
No sheaths included:cool::cool:

Scrapyard is a off shoot of Busse knives, run by Jerry Busse's Brother Dan, They normally Use SR77 (S7 steel) Which is actually tougher than INFI, but won't hold an edge as well, although lately they've been using a lot of SR101 (52100 steel) Which holds a better edge than INFI but isn't as tough or rust resistant. A couple of knives have actually been built with INFI such as the S5LE. There buisness plan is set up in the same way, they'll release a new knife every couple months that you can buy from them for 4-6 weeks usually then don't usually release that knife again, at least not for a couple years, if you wanted a MUK or SOD you'd have to buy one on the secondary market for bigger prices. They should be releasing the Scrapivore CG in the next couple days, which is like a izula style skeleton knife with a pry bar on the end in SR77. Well made knives, with the Busse warranty at a lower price, I have a S5 CG and Scrapivore LE, Really like both of them, also, like Busse Knives they don't come with sheaths but many on the forum can make you one.

Basically there are three main branches in the Busse Combat family, which vary in quality of manufacturing (ALWAYS spot-on, though), materials used, and price, although all use the Busse heat-treat. These companies are collectively known as "Bussekin", as they are basically three branches of the same company, Busse.

Busse Combat is the most expensive of the three, and is most widely known, in my opinion. They use INFI steel, have picture-perfect F&F, and most always use micarta scales, although you may get G10, if you like (for a small fee). Busses are also the most expensive, with a wide range of prices, varying from $250 to well over a thousand.

The second in the lineup of Bussekin is SwampRat. SwampRat uses SR-101 steel (for the most part), and uses the Busse heat-treat. They use the same handle materials (again, for the most part) as Busse. Prices for SwampRats vary widely as well, ranging from $50 for a SW neck knife, to around $400 for a RatWaki.

The third is ScrapYard. ScrapYard uses SR-77 steel (though they switch it up, sometimes) with a Busse heat-treat, and they almost exclusively use a handle substance called Res-C. Though I've never handled it myself, the closest I can think of it as is maybe a bicycle inner-tube - extremely grippy, comfortable and soft. ScrapYard's prices range from $50 to around $300.

The other two Bussekins were meant to be a more economical option for those knife enthusiasts who can't pay the arm and a leg for a Busse. Many people swear by SR and SY, and they are nearly as indestructible as Busses, and they all three have that amazing Busse heat-treat, for incredible edge-retention.

As a side-note, no Bussekin comes with a sheath.

The third in the

You can't go wrong with any of the Busse family knives. SwampRat and Scrapyard knives may be the best values on the market. Check out their websites, both companies have several knives in stock. Their knives are very reasonable when you order directly from the companies.

I have all of the releases from Scrap Yard Knife Company. They all are users!! Almost EVERY knife sold is UNDER $200.00 with still a greater portion being under $100.00!!!

They are indestructible. Should you break it or your Pastors neighbors child from their fourtmarriagege simply return it to ScraYardrd and include your address because they will shoot you
off a brand Nreplacementent. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!!!

You will NOT find a better knife at any price to performance that even gets close to The Scrap Yard Knife Company product.
