Scuff Marks On My 'Plastic" Dress Shoes

I have a pair of uniform dress shoes, what we used to call patten leather, back when they made them out of leather. They are very high gloss, black and really do look sharp. They are also not leather. Only problem (fortunately a minor one) is that I have picked up a few scuff marks on them.

Nothing deep or too large, but I notice them and they bother me.
I will be wearing them on 9-11 and of course want to look particularly good that day.

Any advice on getting rid of these marks?

Thanks!!

We used to use woman's underarm deodorant pads to keep our spit shines. They only last one day, and then the shine cracks a bit, but for that one day you can shave in your reflection. (Of course, this was 40+ years ago. Do they still MAKE woman's underarm deodorant pads?)

Pretty sure that you cant fix those things. That is why I never had them or liked them. I could and still can make a pair of jump boots shine like no ones business with just some good of KIWI and elbow grease. And not just the heel and toe pads either the whole boot. Those chlorphamanes (sp) just started coming out when I was getting out. Thought they were just for the ones that did not know how to polish. Strip them down, they probably are leather under there somewhere, and start fresh and new. Fill your lid with water, get a lighter, and a pack of cloth diapers and go to work. Finish it of with a piece of buckskin fuzz and you will be looking good and everyone will know that you did it not bought it. IMO that will make you look better then those "bought" shines everyday of the week. OH BTW dont get me started on the "starchies".

Yeah, personally I think that patten leather shoes are just a lazy man's polish. You might be able to get away with 'repair' the shoe with some Kiwi, but I doubt it will look as good as you are wanting it.

If you decide to get a new pair of shoes, just get the leather shoes with a good brush and cloth and spend sometime with them while watching TV and having a drink. Bit more work but it will always give a better impression.
