For version one I was inspired by Michael Raymond (pictured right below). These had a little tab extended off the stud to secure into the blade.

For version two, went more the CRK route. Also went a different route to secure the studs. This time using a press fit titanium rod which the studs snapped onto.

Does the finish of the titanium wear off like the factory studs?

I find torching to be a more durable finish than electro anodizing titanium, personally. Mine haven't worn like the factory studs at all.

Probably not worth the effort, but have you thought about making Timascus clip inserts? Would be a nice dress up when going clipless.

Appreciate it! I've seen a few people who have made them and they look great.

I tend to just make things I also use and being a clip guy.... but if I wasn't.... I would ha.

Saw one fellow who made a damascus insert to match his large 21 blade and I thought that was pretty awesome.
