I've only had my large Sebenza for 3 weeks or so, and alredy I'm saving up for another one. Which one this time? Should I get a large or small classic or should I get the small regular? Thanks for your help.

Gotta go for the Small Classic. Carry it anywhere, better ergonomics INMO, and it is what Chris carries (or so I hear). I just got one and I love it.

I carried a plain small for 4 years and just love the Classic. I will probably send the regular back to CR for a touch up and then put it up.

My next Sebbie will probably be a Large Classic. If I could only own one however it would be a small classic.

Handle one if you

The small classic is a great edc knife. Plus you will have a sample of both types and sizes to help decide what your third Sebenza will be

You might find you like the size of the small and want to try it with the new profile, or you might love the old profile and want to get it in the large! But don't forget about the Umfaan, or perhaps you should go strait to the Mnandi?

I am no help whatsoever, am I?

I'm trying to decide between a small Classic Sebbie and an Umfaan. Maybe by the time I have enough money I'll have made up my mind. Good luck, John. You know whatever you decide will be a winner.

Okay, if nobody else is going to say it I will, get a large. Since you have the large regular, I would go for the large Classic.

Although if you can find one I definately would go for a large woody!

Boy.....tough decision........every time I hold a plain I like it....then I hold a classic, and I also like it......Come to think of it....there is no Sebenza I do not like

I suggest the small regular but, don't forget the Umfaan. After handling the Mnandi last week at the Blade show....well that's next on my list

From a purely practical point of view and, based on the trends of my customers, the favorites seem to be the large standard and the small classic.

It seems that, while everyone likes the looks of the large classic, the ergonomics of the large standard seem to be much better. (I've actually had people buy large classics, only to bring them back and exchange them for the standard model.)

Chris knew what he was doing when he refined the shape of the Sebenza. The extra width of the handle and the scalloping around the lock area are definite improvements. The grip is better on the large standard.

The shape of the small classic, OTOH, is better suited for it's size. People seem to like the narrow sweep of the small handle and feel that the scallops are unnecessary on a knife of this size. I have to agree. If I were to carry a small Sebenza, it would be the classic. (My edc is a large standard Sebenza.)

My customers seem to agree.

The first Sebenza that I ever owned was a large. I then found myself wondering about a small. My feeling is, you need to have at least 1 of each to see which size actually suits you best for everyday carry. I love them both, but find myself continuously going back to the small unique graphic (standard pattern not classic) as an everyday carry. I can go anywhere (mostly) and not have to be concerned whether the blade length is not legal.. It is especially great if you have to travel. The large is especially useful when I have those occassional large cutting jobs.

Two sizes, two personalities. Whether they are standard or classic all depends on which style strikes your fancy. I like them both.

Which ever style you go with, each has it's own advantages.

Thanks.

You will love it!

Without a doubt a small classic! I regret slightly getting my Large classic, but it was a numbered one (6-50) and I looked at the difference in price between the large and the small and thus, went for the Large. I want a small Sebi now... Then again I could list 100 knives I want right of the top of my head...

John, if you're ever going to be near Birmingham on a Wednesday or Thursday (my "weekend") this summer, drop me an email, and we can meet up for lunch or something.
There'll be a small plain Sebenza with me

You have a large plain now so I would go for the small classic. You would then have one of both styles and your choice for your third will be much easier and you will buy three because you are now infected with the Benza virus. Mine started like this, small plain, large classic then small classic.
