Just thought you guys might like to see this magnificent folder.

Has a mammoth ivory handle, 2.82 inch blade and is 6.25 inches total length.

Shane calls this pattern *Lightning Radial*. He forges some of the nicest damascus out there. Makes some real purdy knives too.

IMHO, Rick is one of the best damascus makers out there right now. Plus, he's a hell of a nice guy. I was fortunate enough to hang out with Rick and the other "Montana boys" at the MKA show and afterward and they are all great guys/wonderful makers.

Fantastic folder, thanks for sharing! :)

Hi Nick--now I know we all chatted with a whole bunch of fellows that Sat night in Missoula but Keith posted a knife by Shane Taylor not Rick Dunkerly lol. However, you are absolutely right that Rick makes great knives as does Shane.

Then again, I kind of am partial to a great dagger that I was able to pick up from a Nick Wheeler fellow who I spent all Sat eve with and did not realize who he was until Sun. when I made the purchase.

BTW just got some display stands, cases, and drawers and now have the dagger very nicely displayed. Took awhile to get all straightened out after the trip but the display of the new and old knives is fun to go around and look at.

Someone posted the photo by Terrell Hoffman but I have forgotten where it was or I could point forumites to the dagger image.

Just in case everyone is not familiar with the work of Rick Dunkerly I am posting this picture to show why Nick thinks so highly of him.

Wow, color me red :o

I knew it was Shane's (obviously) but typed Rick's name for some reason!!!

Rick's table was right behind Tom Ferry's (my friend that I sat with) but that's no excuse, I was just plain tired or something!!!

BOTH Shane and Rick are fabulous guys and at the front of the damascus frontier.

My apologies to both of them...

Murray, glad to hear things are well. I thought I saw you on Sunday but didn't ever see you come in...I was getting ready for that grinding demo that never happened. I thought you were shipping out that day.

KWM, thanks for posting both shots!!! :)

You bet it is. I just like to post pictures of nice knives for members to see. It would be great if I actually owned these knives, but unforunately I don't have the money to buy knives from these great makers.

The picture of the Rick Dunkerly knife came the Knifegallery site.

If everyone would like me to post where my pictures come from I would be glad to do so. I was thinking that this would probably be a good idea anyhow.

Thanks Keith: That Sahne Taylor Bat Wing is absolutely true to form. Speaks of the nature of bat wing and all that surrounds the thoughts.
