Finally got a break in weather and got out to put this Camp Kaiju from Shannon Steel Labs to use! I took the kids out back on our farm, here in our woods we have over 2 ft of snow. The fields and drifted areas are 4ft-ish.

So the Camp kaiju:
3v steel
10.84" blade length tip to handle
6.0" handle
.2" thickness
2.1" blade height

Using the Kaiju to dig and chop ice and snow was pleasant and its blade length was handy. The large handle was easy and comfortable to use with mitts. The sheath is kydex and fits absolutely perfect.

First thing I used the Kaiju for was making an area for a fire:

Then went on to gather wood for a fire, walking in deep snow is fun!

In closing, I used the Kaiju to chop ice that was on the ground. The edge came into contact with the ground repeatedly and the edge held up fantastic, I chopped seasoned maple, did a little batonning and making kindling. The Kaiju did admirably in every task I used it for! Way to go Colin ShannonSteelLabs ShannonSteelLabs I love the knife, thank you for letting me get in on this passaround.

I also had the pleasure of using and testing the Camp Kaiju. What impressed me was the balance of this large blade, made it feel lighter than it’s true weight. Impressive that for its heft how easy it swung and indexed perfectly. ShannonSteelLabs ShannonSteelLabs hit a home run with this knife in my opinion. From a comfortable handle, to the carbon fiber pins, to a edge that held up through everything I put it through, this knife is a winner. Colin want to thank you for the privilege. Feel lucky to have got in on the ground floor for a man I am predicting will be a household name in premier knives. One thing for sure, this blade will never leave you wanting for more 0C24E7F0-2683-474A-A872-39E90B7671B2.jpeg6185C3BE-3BF1-4477-8C00-65B592552A73.jpeg940348D1-7E17-4425-A479-FF09A202F715.jpeg

How does the Peters heat treat for 3V compare to the Delta heat treat? Is there much difference?

Jonny, thanks for posting the link to this, I might not have found it and I didn't get alerts from the tags for whatever reason...

Regardless, great reviews, shinyedges shinyedges and Cvrobinson Cvrobinson ! Nice to see that brute in action.

Nice work, ShannonSteelLabs ShannonSteelLabs ! If the passaround is still in play, either Matt or I can take the knife to the Becker West gathering next month in April and really put it through its paces.
