Hello,
Gunther Löbach, a german knifemaker, has made a Shapeshifter with a blade out of my stainless damascus steel in the pattern masame crosswise(in german "quer") and is very much enthusiastically from this damascus.
He means, that one can see in the bright steel layers the steel structure.
This damascus steel consists of the steels Böhler N690(1.4528) and Nitro-B(1.4916 nitrogen-alloyed).
Gunther manufactures, by the way, other very unusual knives. His website soon seems new, here you can still see the actual one: www.ScorpioDesign.de
The shapeshifter was the knife of the year 2007 at the kife show of the German Knifemakers Guild in Solingen. Gunther manufactures since constantly new variations of this knife, also he's got a patent.
I am glad, that now my damascus are processed with him.
What do you think about this knife?
