Hi everyone

Just wanted to warn everyone about Eric at Shepard CC. He does all knife scales etc. Anyway I have been waiting just on 17 weeks now for a single ZT 0560 scale and a backspacer for a ZT 0301 and backspacer for ZT 0350. The scale has been ordered and paid for on the 28th March. Then a week later the backspacer for the 0301. Then not till the 26th June I ordered the backspacer for the 0350. Only becauseit had been dragging on so long. He keeps coming up with every excuse as to why it had not been done. I sent countless emails and never got anything in reply. Keeps telling me my emails does not reach him. He seems to be the only person having that issue. The latest is he had trouble with supply but never let me know about any dramas he was having. The scale is actually done as I have seen the photos but only about a week ago on the 27th. Then he tells me he has to redo the backspacer for one of the knives, that was a week ago, and will get it done and in the mail. Needles to say I am still waiting. When I asked the morning he tells me that I piss him off because I bother him all the time. What business tells people or more to the point clients that they are pissing you off. Never heard of anything like it. He was quite happy to take the full amount as payment and promised it would be done in about 4-5 weeks. I knew he had the materials on hand when I ordered as he sent me photos of what was available. Anyway this morning he tells me that he is at no ones beck and call. I answered you are if you take their money for products that has not been delivered. He then says he will get it done and send me photos. A couple of hours later he sends another message saying he won't do it today as he is on a date and will not get home. I think it's all lies and he is doing this on purpose.
Anyway I thought I will just let everyone know about my experience with Eric at Shepard CC. Not very pleasant and a completely arrogant liar about everything. Stay away and find someone else to do your scales. Or make sure you stay on top of it. Otherwise you most likely end up regretting the experience like I am. All I want is the product I paid for. Anyone can understand if someone had issues with supply etc, but you keep in contact with the people that paid for the product in advance. That is your client base in the end. Anyway he won't see another dollar of mine, not if he was the last person on earth.
 
Wow long wall of text but that sucks man sorry to hear about this. Seems to be this service providers mo 3rd complaint in 1 month shows a pretty consistent track record. Hope it works out for you op
 
He did take a little extra time on my scales but I promise from what I have seen from him you will get your scales. He does good work you just have to be patient. He had ordering issues and I think it set him back a bit.

Look I hope it works out also. But it seems after I read a few of the other threads regarding Eric Yakush from Shephards CC, I am not sure how I am going to go with this. He has my address and everything else needed to send the finished products. And he had my money for about 17 weeks now. I am all for reasonable timelines on work. We are all busy, we all have to work for a living. But then just adding 12 weeks for the sake of it is completely out of hand.
And then when I keep asking him when he is going to finish he tells me I am pissing him off because he was sleeping. Imagine that. Previous time it he was sick of me bugging him as to when and what is going on. I am really astonished at this man and his business ethic. Or the lack of.
Like I said this morning I contacted him and he said he will sent a couple of pictures of the finished backspacers and then 2 hours later just sends an message saying he won't be as he is now on a date and won't go home. I think he lies trough his teeth. Compulsively.
Anyway he won't see me again. And I hope whoever reads this stays well away from him.
 
You should have been warned enough by the other thread started about him. He is unreliable at best. Next time maybe research a little bit before buying. Check out the other threads about him and that tells the story. Surprised he is still allowed on here to be honest but this isn't my site
 
I know I should have done more research. Anyway it's to late now. But it does not make it right either way. I am surprised he is still on BF. And very surprised he has got any work on at all. Everyone dealing with him gets the same bad excuses as to why he can't do it or why it has not been done. And his arrogance blows me away.
 
This would explain then huge spike in emails and work requests I received in the past two months from bf alone. Heck. I don't mind even though I dont have the time anymore. Don't pay in advance. Just dont do it. He has never been friendly to me back when I started here and asked him for input and advice so this does rub me the wrong way. I used to send work his way and even stick up for him when things like this show up. Now I'm kicking myself for that.
We all make mistakes now and then ( I have too and never repeated them)

I do love his work. He certainly has his own style like the rest of the makers. And im sure he has 100x the amount of work lined up than i do, but maybe that's the problem. However, I now stick to Steve Ketchen instead and Rek for steel work.
Best of luck to you and Eric. Friends/customers and the love of the hobby should come first.

I think I've seen enough legitimate complaints to keep me from doing business with him. Seems like a nice guy, just not a good business man. Probably time for him to close his books and get caught up, and stop asking for money UPFRONT.

Like I Said on here and will say again Eric has always got everyone their scales I have never heard of anyone not getting them. We are only hearing your side of it,we don't know what was said by you to him,but no matter what if somethings were said that you say then yes that is very unprofessional by someone conducting a business.
I think Eric just needs to be more clear with people and the timelines. He took extra time on mine because he had a problem with his supplier I think that really put him back. Me and him talked and I just asked for him to give me a timeline that he knew he would have it done by after he did I left him alone to do his thing from that point forward it was easy going he actually got both my scales done a week from the time he gave me. And his work was amazing def was worth the wait. I hope you guys get it worked out and you end up getting a product you love. I am gonna add Erik on here.

These already shipped out Saturday. This is another customer I told would be delayed due to my supplier dicking me around on lightning strike carbon fiber scale.
 
I'm sure there will be a few more of these popping up because there are a few people that wanted lightning strike carbon fiber and there is only one supplier for it.
I'm at their mercy if they don't deliver.
 
^time to find a new supplier then...or stock more inventory of it.....or stop offering it..

They are the only ones that Supply it. They told me that they had to fire a lot of people and that they were getting different suppliers themselves and blah blah blah and they gave me all kinds of run around.
 
There are multiple suppliers for G10 Micarta wood and different resins but there's only a few suppliers of Ctek and lightning strike carbon fiber

Hopefully you have already taken the time to inform those customers of this unfortunate delay. I'm sure they will be a little more understanding of the situation as long as they know you're not yanking their chain.

How long do we as a comunity put up with this? Pass it on guys spread the word this guy is flaky at best when people ask about scales in general mention him and then point them to gbu to research him people will come to the same conclusion the rest of us have excuses after excuses. Hopefully the mods will step in and maybe he dosent need to be a service provider here anymore. I know he won't get my knives to work on that's for sure.

Op I hope you get your scales by Wednesday at the latest Since that shipped on Saturday and the quality is what you hoped and paid for.
