Shipping knives from UK

Hello everyone

Just a quick one, I posted few knives for sale and there has been an interest however when checked with Royal Mail and various couriers it appears that all bladed implements (not only knives) are prohibited from being shipped internationally.

Anyone got experience with shipping knives from UK to Europe and US
 
I've received fixed blades from UK to usa and I've shipped fixed blades from the usa to the uk with no problems. got a pal in Birmingham area we give each other knife gifts sometimes.

never had a problem either way on fixed blades. folders don't know, never tried either way.

I tried with Royal Mail and DHL to ship to NL, neither allowed it.
I have yet to find a service who will allow a private person to ship knives from the UK to Europe.
Luckily I had a friend who was a knife dealer and had a business account and he did it for me.

You might like to ask on Edge Matter (the UK forum)
 
I have ordered from a retailer in the UK, and I receive via Royal Post in the USA.
Not sure if it is OK for them since they are a business, if that only applies to individuals or what exactly is prohibited.
