Shipping Knives to Germany (Deutschland)

I have shipped surface parcel with no insurance to a member here in Germany, it was a very pointy, multi-edged, Bawidamann fixed blade. It took a long time to arrive, over two months if IIRC, but it made it.
 
I shipped quite a few knives to EU from Canada and never had any issues.
