Shipping to Italy?

no, but I rec'd from Italy and it was absolutely the slowest transit
ship Fedex if you want it done right and fast, but costly, maybe $150

otherwise to the rest of Europe I've never had any problems with regular postal mail

Yeah Kevin I've shipped several to Italy. Its pricey but UPS gets em there quickly and safely. PO lost the first one for several months (rather the Italian postal service did). Four months after the original packaged had shipped I received it back. Covered in Italian writing and looking like it had been run over by a truck several times. I'd replaced the package already for the customer. UPS picked it up on Fri morning and I had an email from the customer in Italy thanking me for the great knife on Monday. From then on have always used UPS to Italy. Use to buy supplies from a supplier who had on the front page of their website that they simply would not ship to Italy. They'd had too many lost.

Timely thread the guy that won my IG giveaway is in Italy.

I can speak accurately for shipments in the opposite direction, but in general I have gained great experience in international shipments of knives.
Ship to Italy involves the same problems present for any shipment to any European country. The carrying of knives is subject to the internal regulations of shipping companies. I advise you to use FedEx I never had problems! I also used UPS for shipments to the US, but after 3 days the parcel is returned back .... marked as containing dangerous object.

You're saying UPS returned a package because it had a knife in it and they considered it a dangerous object?

I've shipped guns UPS

No way Italy is the worst possible :thumbdn: My friend are collector(numismatist) he sold some items and ship to Italy...from Zagreb to Milan 2 days after that Twilight Zone :D month and a half after the customer has received ithem.
Second example...When I order a material from K-Steel .... two months of expectation :D....neighboring country
From anywhere in the EU 3-5 working days max.

I have had my share of international mishaps to the point I will no longer entertain the option. Sucks but I could not deal with it anymore.

I understand your sense of wonder, but some limitations that apply shipping companies are in according to laws applied in the specific country. In Italy for example, a double-edged knife that cut on both side, is considered a weapon and as such must be reported to the local police force.

I can not say if the US UPS Regulation is different from that in Italy. In Italy we ship guns through couriers, but we use specialized couriers in transporting weapons.

I do not know what to tell you.
I speak of my experience: not use the Italian internal mail service but use only SDA, UPS and FedEx. Now I know that for shipments to Europe have reliable delivery within 2 working days, while for the United States of America with Fedex I reliable delivery in three working days.

With regard to Ksteel I can tell you that delays in delivery, which probably depend on the agreements they have with the carrier using ..... should ask them

That's what I'm getting at. Your post made it sound as if you were sending a knife to the US via UPS, and it was rejected. And I can tell you without hesitation that UPS, in the US, will ship any knife you can dream of as well as firearms and loaded ammunition. So I was curious if it was rejected while still in Italy or at some customs checkpoint.

The parcel was rejected while it was still on Italian soil, by tracing it came to pre airplane boarding scanning and from there was sent back to the sender (to me).

we do a lot of oconus shipping at my office. I do my personal shipping through my work (it's a work perk and totally legit). My shipper informed me that FedEx is preferable to UPS for international shipping.

I don't live in Italy, but in Denmark, so it is at least Europe :)
I have ordered from US a few times (It's often quite expensive with customs and so on), and have always used UPS, and it has worked fine. The only time I have experienced any problems, was when I misread and they send it using USPS.. The danish postal service do not deliver knives.. I still have a Busse floating around somewhere in the world of post :(
