hi all, I'm in the mood for a new folding knife. The Gerber 06 fast appeals to me has good aesthetics comes with a pouch for secure secure carry and I'm a big fan of gerber. Is there any other unknown first hand experience why I should not buy this $48 knife? Lastly, is there any other folders out there in the same playing field with the gerber 06 fast?

You'd be much better off with a USA made Kershaw tanto Blur.

No mention of the steel. I take it that they used their mystery "surgical stainless?"

For a lower priced auto the Kershaw Breakout is hard to beat.

The 06 fast isn't an auto, but rather is assisted. But yeah if the OP is looking for an auto, the Kershaw Rogue or Breakout are definitely solid choices.

you can get a leatherman expanse e55 for around the same price.

there is also the spyderco centofante 3 or 4 at a similar price.

How are the pocket clips on the kershaws and spydercos you guys mentioned I've had bad experience with them getting loose on my knives they are G10, composite etc grips.

No idea what you mean by getting loose as Kershaw loctites theirs in.

If yours ever gets loose, just pull out a T6 and some loctite blue and it's all fixed.

I thought it was....

In that case, yes, Kershaw makes some great A/O's.
