Hi All,

I just found my Cold Steel Recon 1 Clip Point Ultra-Lock, Plain Edge in mint condition! The blade drops like something I've never seen before. It's just like a clock seconds pointer. Silky smooth, slow and so smooth. Solid lockup, Perfectly Centered with no blade play. It has a round, disc thumb-plate and Black G-10 Handle Scales. I'm thinking about stripping the blade even though there is not a scratch on it. It is the old crappy finish so If I decide to use it will not hold up like the new DLC finish.

I would love to sit down and have a chat with Lynn Tompson and let him try this knife out. The Ultra-Lock works better than any other similar locks I've used before.

It looks cleaner and better than the top one with white Lettered (Recon 1) pictured here:

i vote no. let it wear off from use. once bad enough wear then maybe remove it. thats me. you are you. have to do what you want. if you cant decide i say leave it.
