Show me your personalized khukuris

i was looking at an image thread here and i saw some leather stacked washer handled khukuris ...how do you do that ?

from what i understand you just cut out a bunch of oversized leather washers and custom fit them along the tang as you compress each layer. Then you go back and shape the handle exactly how you wnat it.

Looks cool, but beyond my skill/patience level

Some tricks to help with stacked leather handles is to use thick leather, compress the leather beforehand a bit by hammering it, and affix the butt to the tang while compressing the whole stack on the tang.

Then oil it and the leather will drink up th oil, and expand, making a tight fit.

I have always wondered what Kamis or, say, Gurkhas would say about a kukri like that. Anyone know?

I was wondering when id see somebody that had an osage orange handle on thier khuki...my favorite American hardwood tough as nails good stuff
