Show your Chunky Monkeys

After looking at the photos of your knives, I realized: "I want this for myself."
Can anyone please tell me the price range and which of them deserves more attention?

To cover the entire thread, so far? The Boker Gnome is probably the least expensive, somewhere between forty and fifty dollars.

At the high end, I would say it's a tossup between the custom in Shannon Steel Labs' post, and the little Randall near the top of page two. I don't know much about what Randall knives are going for these days, but I would be very surprised if any of them sold for less than five hundred dollars.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg This monkey is kind of chunky. The rocker is so wide, it has two round wire return springs.

Still no flood of Medfords. :)

Have you ever seen a knife and thought, "That blade stock is ridiculously thick and totally unnecessary. I must own it!!"? Then you probably have a Chunky Monkey or two in your collection. I understand the basics of geometry, but for some reason, I'm drawn to some of the outliers.
If you also have a chunky or two, post 'em up. .

Chunky Monkey? Oh yes I have one :)
Do you see this innocent-looking folder above the Ritter Grip? It's a Red Blade Pig.

It looks normal. Classic. Like all the other folders.

But when you look at it from above...BOOOM!!!

A stupidly thick S30V blade (0.25').

Is it useful? Of course not.
But I like it ;)

I unfortunately sold off all my chunks except my TSF Beast and ZT 0095.

I had quite a few. ZT's 0801, 0561, 0350, DPX Heat, Lionsteel SR1a, a few others.

I just realized I have a Becker BK5 in my storage pod.

But my favorite chunky monkeys are these two:

I have a handful of knives with thick blade stock, but until today none that felt like they truly fit the combination of elements that comes to mind when I hear "chunky monkey." The Medford 187F fits the bill, though, with 0.187" stock for the blade and handle slabs, but in a compact package that's strangely adorable. :D
