Was that made by Hmong metal smiths or Lao? Truck spring most likely. I used to spend time with folks from Laos, both Lao and Hmong. The older Hmong people lived through some tough days. They were about like the knives they made....tough, flexible and not easy to wear out. If you have them for a friend they will watch your back.
 
Hmong. Spent a fair amount of time in the mountains recovering human remains from air crashes from the war. Mostly in Savannakhét Province.
 
Thanks for your work, those who live with unresolved losses are grateful for any efforts made to recover something of their MIA loved ones. I imagine machetes were essential to that work.
 
Just picked up this Seymour cane knife. just a cheap beater I needed real quick. I plan on keeping it in my tool box on my truck.
