A while back I ordered one of the first production run REKAT Pikunis that 1SKS was selling. Much to my disappointment, the knife I received was not up to my standards or REKAT's. After reading my post about the knife, Rob Simonich graciously offered to put together a D2-E Pikuni for me, which I accepted. Turns out that Rob had an extra D2-E blank that was sent to him by REKAT for field testing. It was already ground and heat treated to REKAT specs. Rob cleaned up the grinds, slapped on some green G-10 scales, finished the blade, put an edge on it, made up a Concealex neck carry rig, and sent it my way....all for the same price I shelled out for the REKAT version! As usual, the knife is typical Simonich - great edge, tight fit and finish, and handle contouring. Rob's definitely A-OK in my book
