After breaking a few of the plastic Nalgene caps clipping a carabiner to the plastic loop on a filled 1L bottle, I needed something better

So I just used a 4.5" hose clamp and a couple pieces of webbing sewn into loops.

Thought someone else could use this too

I just use a double constrictor hitch, then I have a fairly good length of paracord with me.

Should have mentioned, I wanted something that could be easily clipped to a sea kayak deck line and support a full bottle when wet. I don't think paracord works that well on the smooth plastic when wet.

What I do on the Nalgene bottles is take some paracord, and put it on both sides of the bottle, with the loops up over the cap. Then just duct tape the crap out of it. Sandwiching the paracord between the bottle and tape. Won't be going anywhere, and you have duct tap if you end up needing some.
