Had some substantial damage to my fugitive recently (a whole other discussion) and sent in to Steve. This included re-sanding the bearing pockets, new bearings, pivot and discs, re-ground and re-finished the blade in its entirety and all other tuning/adjusting in his magic shop. BAM! Got it today and I’m elated, to say the least. Unbelievable amount of care and explaining what needed to be done before committing. I gave him the green light to proceed and I couldn’t have felt safer about it, in his hands. He nailed it. What an artist! His lovely wife Kim was a joy to talk to as well! Can’t say enough about the experience or his company!!!

Thank you! Well…a good portion of my collection met the other side of a hammer by someone who had access to them while they were inebriated and very angry. This, most prized piece, took a beating! The bearings actually indented the pockets in the handle and blade. He was surprised by the blade though, being hardened steel. He had to regrind the pockets and replace the pivot pin. The blade was scuffed and he was concerned about one side where he couldn’t polish it out. We discussed and I told him I was willing to take the risk of losing the blade during regrinding (I’m paraphrasing as I’m not fully versed). He got this thing back as though nothing ever happened!
Most of my other blades I truly admire were unscathed by pure luck and some were in a different location. But a lot of my really nice production ones received some level of damage. So it goes
They’re only items, right.

I'm thinking maybe I should lock up my collection if it looks like I may end up in a heated argument. Appreciate the insight and information on their ability to rehabilitate a damaged knife.

I'm about to put in an offer on one of these. I like solid feeling knives - Andre Thorburn as an example. The feel of a Skaha is to light and not substantial enough for my tastes. How would you rate the Skiff?

Hmm, I’ve never held a Thorburn to compare. I do have a Riann Menser (3LegDog) which is unbelievably smooth and close in weight (3.10 vs. Skiff 3.40 oz.). When compared to the Skiff it has a bit more of a mechanical feel? The Skiff is VERY dialed in and solid in feel. Damn near perfect in deployment and movement in general. The Skiff is like nothing else I’ve held before! I hope that helps in your decision!
