Nephew will be on assignment in an area that has safety issues.
Would appreciate any suggestions on both high quality slash/cut and more importantly stab proof attire.
Do these exist in 'casual wear' form?

Thanks.

Some guys at work are starting to wear ballistic vests which carry stab ratings. Haven't looked into it myself but they are much slimmer than expected. I think they are achieving the edged weapon protection on lower level vests these days, also.

Turtleskin looks interesting (not that Im in the market).
I wonder what that long sleeved shirt is 'rated' at.

Lots of dough for the vests, but then that technology and a level of security doesnt come cheap.

There's an outfit called turtleskin that specializes in stab-resistant attire. Give them a look-see. http://www.turtleskin.com/Stab-Vests.aspx
Do they sell the inserts separately?

I figure there's no substitute for actual first-hand testing, and jamming a medium quality dagger into it yourself would give you more information than watching a video of someone jamming what is likely a blunt Pakistani dagger into it.
