Sledge Hammers!

What is that little hammer for? Smithy? I have another question too; I posted my ATHA sledge a couple months ago and was wondering is it rare to have an ATHA with no horseshoe? Can this help date it?

I recently found some nice Heller files. Those white tangs are a prize :)

I cant agree more

I have but this one white tang dbl cut Heller beauty that came to me in a box a while back on the H&H R.R. Thank You

It's a bittersweet relationship...I dont want to use it, my only one, I want to use it-it is awesome-and I had to use it on the Kelly Registered and the Roger's Superior
Just glad I have it...its used sparingly and for worthy bits only:)

I had a big old Heller that was about as good as they get. Down to a few smaller ones now. It seems like about the time I start to panic I come across some more vintage files. I must be hard on them because I go through them.

I've heard that chemical sharpening process really works. I'm thinking of trying it at home. Weygers describes the process in 'The Complete Modern Blacksmith'.
