Curious what designs you guys like for a small EDC fixed blade. Also curious how you carry it. I think this type of knife is very practical and very interesting. Im still looking for the perfect one and would.like to see what you guys like. I'll post a pic of one of mine when I figure out how. So let's see em!

They aren't customs, but the ones I carry for everyday FBs are a Bradford Guardian 3, a Fiddleback Forge Hiking Buddy, or a Dozier Personal Utility. All 3 are small enough to be comfortable as a horizontal carry at about 10:30 for RH crossdraw.

I can't help much because I don't carry it but here's the only small custom fixed blade I own. An Ivory handled Wharnie by Craig Camerrer.

How small? I prefer a 3 to 4 inch puukko, but I also have a very small pocket sheath knife.

I like to carry my southern grind jackal pup every now and then to compliment whatever folder I am carrying.

Check out Dave Ferry aka Horsewright on the forums, he makes some dandy small fix blades

My nicest fixed blade ever was made by Dave Ferry...sterling silver bolster and cap, exotic wood, great steel. Wonderful knife, but I sold it.
I was smart enuf to get it, but not smart enuf to keep it.

These days, I carry a Bradford Guardian3, horizontal belt-carry. It's not custom, but he makes a great knife in 3V or M390. I believe he offers other steels as well, but I like these.

Not truely a custom but I love my little brous blades silent soldier ranger. It is just so small it's like you are not carrying a fixed blade.

I like all those knives you mentioned. Very good size for EDC imho. Have you ever had any close call while taking them out in that area... Lots of important parts around there.

:D Um-m-m... no. I'm pretty careful and I look at the sheath when I'm putting them back. They are surprisingly easy to get to and to re-sheath when carried horizontally on my weak side. I do that because it gives me access with either hand.

I'll second that Bradford Knives Guardian 3, excellent blades !

Sweet looking knife. I love wharncliffes and sheepfoots.

I've got a custom fixed blade of my own design on order from Alan Davis; should have it in about 3 weeks. It's a drop point in Damascus steel with an OAL of 6". He's already sent pics of the completed blade, now it just needs heat treatment and its desert ironwood scales. He did a small wharncliffe for me in Damascus about 3 years ago.
