ANyone have experience with the small Saddleback wallet (the ID picture one)
How about a Smathers and Branson needlepoint credit card holder
lastly the Col Littleton front pocket wallet

I am curious as to how many bills that the wallets will hold with about 6 credit cards stuffed in? I prefer to have the bills folded in half, not quarters, for ease of use in taking out and identifying them, and, I know the Col Littleton will handle it. Love the look and options of the Smathers and Branson needlepoint ones but dont know if they will hold bills right

I have the Saddleback leather wallet you are referring to. I have the carbon black version. I have had it for a couple months. It is great, still looks good as new. It's a little "rough around the edges", but it is very solid.

How many dollar bills will it hold in the middle? Say I have like 7 of them, can I fold them in half or to get that many in, do I have to fold them in quarters (in half and in half again)? I like the chestnut color and will have a drivers license, credit card, debit card, health insurance card, gas discount card (krogers) and then paper cards (like car insurance, two of my business cards and the ocassional stub from shoe repairs). I like the setup of the Littleton, but getting out the ATM card will not be as easy, and that front flap may make it so that it can get loose, but it will hold a ton. It is a thinner, dressier finished leather and will be half as thin as the Saddleback

The Smathers one, I worry that the needlepoint will pull and snag, but I got to see one in person and it was sharp!! However, when I put credit cards into the three slots, the arrangement I listed above, you could barely open the bills slot and to get three one dollar bills in there, i had to fold them in quarters

You could probably fit 7 dollar bills in there, but if you just fold them in half, part of the bills will poke out the top. I keep two 20's in there (one dollars, one euro). I use a money clip to carry more cash. I use it to hold: Military ID, Driver's license, 2 debit cards, credit card, business card, gas card, and the two bills folded in thirds. When I first got mine, everything was very tight, but it loosened up a little with time.

here is a review I found online

http://the-gadgeteer.com/2010/08/16/saddleback-leather-co-small-wallet-review/

scroll down to the middle and there is a top view showing three bills folded in there. I guess, it appears that he folded the bills in half and then put them into the center section just like you would put them in the wallet, lengthwise.

Aesthetics, I like the needlepoint Smathers and Branson, with the Univ. of Tennessse "T" logo. But after I put the cards into the wallet, you can not open up that center section. I have emailed the Smathers website asking if the wallet loosens up and can accomodate the bills that way. Yes, it is a deal breaker cause sometimes, I just wanna look into the wallet and pull out what I have, I dont want to have to unfold the bills and I may have 6, 7, maybe 8 to 10 bills to fold up.

So Ogurama, any other comments are helpful. I did use the Littleton in the store that carries them and you can shove 10 or more bills into that front flap and cover most of it. The Saddleback has the advantage of seeing a card and say keeping the ATM card separate for easy access and having the license show through for credit card id purposes.

By folding them in half, do you mean inserting the bills in with the fold down or up, as opposed to what I was trying to picture, with the fold to the left or right? Are you saying that you can not insert them in but with the fold say shoved down into the bottom of the bills holder?

If the picture of mine is the Saddleback wallet your referring to, you can get about 10-15 bills in it comfortably. 15-20 would be a stretch but not impossible.
In mine are my DL in the ID compartment, 3 CC's in tyvek sleeves in the middle along with 8 somewhat fresh bills and in the side slot pockets are another 2 CC type cards, 2 business cards and Insurance card.
Love this sleek setup!

LMT, for a sleeker look, what if you fold the bills in half and try to put them in the opposite way, length wise instead of how you picture them. Will that work? Id prefer the bills not to spill out like that.

In the photos they are folded once. If folded again to make them 1/4 original size, they fit just as well and I would say the number of bills stays the same as in my original post. If folded either way and put in the opposite way, the bills are just under the top and are not seen by the eye. Just looks like a CC wallet.
The wallet gives a bit to allow about any type of fold. After it fully breaks in and stretches, it'll be easier to insert and extract the bills but it not difficult to do when knew. Just squeeze the ends slightly and easy access to anything in it.

I have a $5 amazon gift certificate coming for completing a survey. Since I can get it off Amazon I will use it and get me the small chestnut one. Thanks LMT for the photos

When i received my Saddleback I stuffed about 6 cards into the cash slot as far as they would go, and left it for a few days. This stretched out the slot nicely, as they come very tight when new. It is amazing what you can fit in this little wallet once it's broken in!
