SMKW - Kershaw Livewire NOT MagnaCut

My friend ordered the new Kershaw Livewire from SMKW several days ago.
In the web ad, the knife is described as MagnaCut steel.
When he got his blade from SMKW/Fedex today, it is the Livewire, but the blade steel is 20CV.
SMKW web still says its Magnacut.
Has anyone else had this problem?

i cant remember what mine is steel wise. ill have to go and dig it out and look.

it says on kershaws site...

PLEASE NOTE THAT OLDER MODELS USE A CPM 20CV. CURRENT PRODUCTION MODELS ARE BUILT WITH CPM MAGNACUT.

so im guessing it's an old stock vs. new issue maybe. weirdly I thought this knife only came out in magnacut....but that ain't true per kershaws message on their site....

I found that same note on Kershaws page - thanks for the information my friend. I'm guessing that SMKW will make good on this - he wanted & paid for MagnaCut steel, not 20CV.

I got mine from SMKW about a week ago, and it's Magnacut. I called them before ordering to make sure it was going to be Magnacut since I knew the early models were 20CV.
 
I apologize, I should have updated my original post.
Soon after my friend got his Livewire in the mail, he took the 75 mile trip to SMKW and explained the situation. SMKW went ABOVE AND BEYOND taking care of the situation. He left the store with a new Kershaw Livewire, in the advertised Magacut steel. They were absolutely great about it. I ordered my own the very next day. And I will throw this in: I don't know what they have changed/done, but their shipping has VASTLY improved recently. I wouldn't place an order with them for a long time, because shipping a knife to me, the 85 miles away that I live, it took 6 or 7 days to get my order.
My last 2 or 3 orders have been 2....maybe 3 days shipping.
My hats off to Smokey Mountain Knifeworks.

I agree.....SMKW shipping is phenomenal. Update on my Livewire....it's stuck in the open position. It's was a little wonky from day one. I'll call SMKQ, and I'm confident they'll make it right. I'm a Magnacut freak. Just got Kershaw Launch 15 in Magnacut from SMKW. They are great folks.
