I have a few knives for y'all today! They're all pretty good deals, I'd like to move them as quickly as I can as it's that time of the year when things get a little tight due to the holidays, inventory needs to be reduced, and upcoming belt/kydex/sandpaper/you-name-it orders need to be placed. Thank you for taking the time to check out my work. I hope you can use one of these (or 2 or 3)!

Knife # 1 (Repost and Price Drop)

This is the 2nd of 2 small EDC clip points I have made, the first one crafted to a fellow BF member/customer's specs. It is a fixed blade version of the classic clip point blade profile. Made from 52100 steel and Walnut, this is a fun and versatile little knife for EDC or even paring knife service! The steel is Aldo's 52100, fully normalized and thermal cycled for a very fine aus grain, and triple tempered for a final HRC of ~62. It features a nice, thin grind for super cutting/slicing performance, and a satin hand rubbed finish. The walnut was treated with Watco Danish oil and TruOil, with a hand rubbed/pore filling finish, topped with a protective wax coat. Final edge thickness prior to sharpening was ~0.008", bevel set with the American Mutt bench stone, then refined with a Fine India for an aggressive edge. "S Davenport" maker's mark on left side, "52100" steel ID on the right side.

OAL: 7 3/4"
Blade: 3 5/8"
Handle: 4 1/8"
Thickness: 0.100"
Edge: 30° inclusive (15° per side), Norton Fine India

Knife # 2

This is one of my latest knife designs and is a sort of tribute to fellow BF member, top of the line knife maker, a very good friend and mentor, Matthew Gregory. He recently banged out a few small hunters that inspired me to try something a little different than my signature hunting knife. This knife is smaller, and probably better sized to small game processing, including white tail deer. As many of us know, it's not always ideal to have a larger-than-necessary blade doing delicate cutting. 3" blades are quite capable, and often preferred.

This knife features the discontinued Crucible Cru Forge V tool steel (how could you, Crucible?). I'm hoping they will offer something akin to this steel for knife makers in the future, but I'm also not holding my breath. If you're after a knife in CFV with a good solid HT, look no further. For those unfamiliar, CFV is somewhat similar to 52100, but instead of chromium carbides giving the wear resistance, Cru Forge V has primary vanadium carbides, which are much harder, and allow for a long lasting edge. It is probably my favorite low alloy carbon steel to use. It is not, however, fun nor easy to apply a hand rubbed finish. Most of us who use this steel joke about this, but the fact that it is so abrasive resistant makes for an aggressive cutting edge. This knife does indeed sport a 400 grit hand rubbed finish, and was polished briefly with 800 grit as well as a good Mother's Mag polish rubbing. Final hardness after triple tempering is 62HRC, and the primary blade bevel was taken to zero, then brought back to reflect light before establishing the cutting edge. It's thin, but not too thin. Goldilocks zone, I would say! As it should be, anyway, that's how I see it.
Black G10 for the handle, rounded for comfort. Stainless steel pins. "S Davenport" maker's mark on the left side, and "CFV" steel ID on the right. From the hunting cabin to the kitchen, this little black demon will serve it's master well!

OAL: 7 1/4"
Blade: 3 1/4"
Handle: 4"
Thickness: 0.100"
Steel: Cru Forge V @ 62HRC
Edge: 32° inclusive, 3 micron

Knife # 3

The 3rd and final knife in this thread is my original large hunter. The handle is long enough for a man's large gloved hand. This a bigger knife than the ones posted above, and would be more suited to general "camp" duty, as well as larger game processing. With the thin full flat grinds I like to use, it works great in the kitchen for food prep as well! The steel is part of the O-7 series, specifically 1.2519. It is basically a German version of the renowned Hitachi Yasuki Aogomi 2 (Blue Paper steel # 2). It is a deeper hardening steel than Blue Paper, making it easier to heat treat. It is very tough, with added wear resistance over the White Paper steels due to the Tungsten carbides present. The handle is Orange G10, so it's easy to spot if you set it down on the ground (plus....I like blaze orange G10 on knives!). The scales also sport a very thin black/white G10 liner, along with SS pins. I didn't add a sharpening choil on this one, but if you would like one, just let me know and I will more than happy to add one to the edge. This is not a perfect example of my work, it has a very tiny blemish. On the underbelly of the handle, in the very thin white liner, there are two extremely small "holes". They are super tiny, right next to each other, and only in the white liner. I might even could mask over them with liquid paper or something, and they would be invisible. Just wanted the buyer to know that upfront, rather than receive it and be surprised. The price is low to reflect the blem. (you can just make them out on the top pic, towards the butt of the handle)

OAL: 9"
Handle: 4 5/8"
Blade: 4 1/4" (plunge line to tip)
Thickness: 0.090"
Steel: O-7 (1.2519) @ 62HRC
Edge: 30° inclusive, 3 micron

Well, heck Stuart, it’s not like I don’t have any of your knives, but I do really enjoy them, and am always thrilled with the way you finish your edges.
So, in the interest of keeping you in supplies going into Christmas, I will take all three. I don’t need to be a hoarder here. If there is someone seriously looking at one or more of these, I can take a step back.

Stuart, if you want to send me a PM, we can work the details. Mike

Okay then, two. Congratulations Walt!
