Are these flat ground? Blade thickness? Would 1/8 be possible to make it light a light weight camp knife? Any steel choices? Looks like a clip point from the angle. Very cool indeed!! Theses also should fit your oven too, approximately 8inch blade and 4.5 to 5 inch handle. The oven was limited 13 inches if I am correct.

This one might have a different grind, but if I make more they will be flat grind. This one was requested in 1/8” steel.

Be still my ❤️!!! I have one in 1/8 from ML knives, mine may not be very hefty but it sure feels good in hand. I opted to have it increased to 1 3/4 wide to give it a little more weight without making it too thick. My other one is 3/16 thick and 1.5 wide, so it definelity has more heft for chopping. So I think that 1/8 of yours would make a good overall camp knife. What is the blade width or profile of that one?

It’s ground from 2” tall material.

Great minds think alike :D. I'll let you know how it handles. Maybe we can swap for a week or something.

I've had this thing on my list of desires for a long time, almost a year I think when John and I first talked about it after seeing your JK HB last year or the year before. We had to put it on hold after I decided to open up Good Knife Co. last fall/winter.

I can send you my JK Hudson Bay if you want to try it too, compared to the other. I know we had talked about....and I put off.....getting mine sharpened.

I can still get that sharpened and I'm better equipped for it now than I was then with a specific sharpening setup for convex edges. Let's get int touch in a couple weeks when I have my JK HB in hand as I have it headed off for a custom sheath from SimpleJack once John finishes the knife. If you want me to sharpen you HB up, we can start that conversation first and tag the rest on later if you want. I can send the thinner HB back for you to try if you're interested as well.
 
Wow, not only are you getting a cool knife, but you are having Simplejack mae a nice sheath too.
A winning combination. I will remind you in a couple weeks, and we can work on the details on sharpening you can have fun with it.

Not much field time with my new sweet desk job. It was bound to happen eventually. I've been busy figuring out how to use a computer at work. And because of covid I am also a assistant teacher and the principal at my house lol.
