SOG battle axe question

I posted in the SOG subforum a while back and didn't get any response

My nephew bought me a SOG battle axe for Christmas
I haven't had the opportunity to do anything with it yet

My question is
Does anyone have any experience with this product and if so how does it perform

To me it looks like it was meant to be a throwing axe, but I am not sure why you would put grips like that on the handle if you were throwing it

Thanks

I don't have any experience with that. At a glance I'd say it was good for little but looking at.

Think he'd be offended if you returned it for a different model? No experience here but it's a very bizarre hawk.

I have one and it's actually a decent chopper because of the thin profile - it's been on a few camping trips and has held up to a fair bit of throwing as well as wood cutting.

Overall, a funky looking and fun axe to use.:D
