Sog multi-tools hex bolt construction-easy to take apart/modify?

Hi guys,
I'm a damascus guy and I usually post in shoptalk.
I recently came into some funds and I thought I would get myself a new muti-plier.
I have a leatherman wave, but like others I am dissatisfied with the blades, I have carried it for years and the sheath is dead too.
My first choice was a Vic, but I thought I would look at all the choices available. I looked at the SOG pliers and in the ad I saw this" Hex bolt construction has become their trademark, enabling the user to adjust, dismantle or even customize their Crosscuttm."
I wouldn't mind putting a damascus blade in my multi-tool, and this looks like a good choice.
So, having said all this, has anyone modified or taken apart their SOG?

Thanks,
Del

Yup, it's all held together by hex bolts. You can take the tools out and even the plier head out to clean them/re arrange them. A big plus is that you can adjust the tension of the whole tool.

There's a few new designs by SOG, but the old Powerlock should be the easiest to work with. And by "old" I don't mean it's obsolete, but newer designs have recently been released. I carry the "old" Powerlock frequently:thumbup:

supratentorial,

I may offer extra blades, but I'll mod my own to see how bad I can screw my own up first(hehe) Who knows by the time I'm done all the tools and the plier jaws may be damascus, but I will start with blades. thanks for the links.

Thanks for the confirmation.

If it works I want in on the next one you make. :D

 Whatever the outcome please post photos!

Seconded!

Also, as others have said, the SOG is a relative breeze to take apart, clean, and put back together. It remains of my top tools because of this feature. I can't tell you how frustrated I get trying to get all the gunk and crap out of LM tools wishing that I could just easily take the thing apart.
