I just ordered the SOG Super Bowie and wondered if anyone knew of a good aftermarket sheath to replace the leather one that comes standard? I've heard good things about the Spec-Ops Combat Master, the one that is for a 5.5"' to 8" fixed blade.

Anyone know if the Super Bowie fits this one (width/thickness wise) okay or not? It appears to run about $45 at most online stores, if anyone knows of a better alternative please let me know.

Thanks so much!

Thanks, any others that you're aware of that are worth considering or just go with the Spec-ops?

Savage made sheaths from Saxis, Va will make you a custom leather sheath for any sog variant. I have one for my S1 and it is divine, if you favor leather.

Thanks for the information, does one need to send in the knife to have the sheath made or does he already have patterns for the SOG's? I'll have to check out his work, I was thinking about contacting Sharpshooter but then I wasn't sure if I wanted leather or Kydex. I doubt that I'll be getting the sheath soaking wet so I'd probably be fine with leather plus I take very good care of my leather goods. When my Frye motorcycle boots jumped up to over $250 I had no choice but to start taking care of that stuff the correct way.....no more quick touch ups with shoe Kiwi shoe polish for me. <grin>

A leather sheath would look much nicer (to me) than the Spec-Ops Combat.
Thanks again!

I got my sheath from their store on e-bay. The sheath is brown taned leather, waxed and waterproofed. It resembles the shape of the sog blade design with a carrier for a sharpen stone. They usually can be found in the sog knife or sog bowie section on e-bay.
