SOG-Voodoo-Hawk-Mini-Tactical-Axe Anyone have one?

I don't have that hawk . Several years ago I picked up a SOG fasthawk on a gift card expecting a toy to throw. I am pleasantly surprised to find it a very useful tool as long as you keep in mind the limitations of its size. I carry it woods bumming and camping a lot

I want it more as a small chopping tool then throwing it, not this SOG Axe but a larger was one was reviewed in the January Blade Magazine, along with some other Axes in looking at SOGS Web site i found the Voodo and liked it's size and it's blade steel.

I have a number of SOG hawks my daughter throws and plays around with.

You get what you pay for.
Blade HQ is giving me a $20 dollar Gift Card for buying my Spyderco Auto Autonomy, so this knocks off $20 bucks of the Voodos price.
For my needs i don't think i really need a $400+ Axe so i will give the Voodo a try.

I have several SOG hawks and they are surprisingly robust for the money. I have thrown the larger tactical hawk exclusively for 3 years and it has yet to fail. I'm talking hundreds of throws. Under this abuse the edges need touching up after every weekend of throwing. Handle is very slightly loose but stays attached.

I have an ATC Lagana hawk and its carbon steel head holds its edges better especially on the spike end

You are not getting what I mean I expected just a throwing toy. I got a decent tool that chops drives tent pegs with the spike breaks up dirt . It is a serious tool the axe you linked to is built similar. I was given a home depot gift card. I have done construction and maintenance work all my life I hate big box home improvement stores I don't even like to go in them . All they are is work to me. I was looking for something not work related on home depot website, found the fast hawk ordered online I only had to go to the service desk to get it. It is a way better tool than expect

The SOG tomahawks are decent tools. I don't think anyone expects a wetterlings when they buy one of these. I like my Two SOG Hawks they are a bit soft but not overly soft about what you would expect for an impact tool. Not good knife hard but not cheap kitchen knife/import hatchet soft. If you are getting a decent deal you should like it just fine.

I have my own reasons for disliking both Home Depot and Lowe's Trust me if your 80+ years of age it's a waste of time to try getting any job with them, no matter what experience you have and how many back ground and drug tests you can pass, they will interview you but you will never get a job offer.

Nobody said you need anything expensive, but you're looking for a tool and this is designed as a toy made for knife people.
It may be decent for hatchet tasks, but there's much better for the money ( half the retail price actually )

Just buy a Vaughan half hatchet for $20 at your local Walmart.
They're ment as actual tools, and are made of a good tool steel by a company who's been making hafted tools for over 100 years.
Just keep in mind you'll have to sharpen it, which you probably already know how to do anyway.

I don't think Walmart would take the $20 Gift card i will receive from Blade HQ for buying my Spyderco Autonomy2 from them.

You'd spend $20 + shipping on the sog after using that gift card, so why not just spend the $20 on the Vaughan and use the gift card on a stone to maintain it with or something ?

Hey you can walk around my Lowe's any time day or night, i can say for sure not any person working there will ask you if you need any help.
If they would hire me and all i am wanting is a pissant type job, i would try helping people.
Not saying i know more then someone already working at Lowe's just saying give me a shot at it.
