It's a deadly weapon designed to break bones.

Resembles a gimp mask more than a skull, so I understand your confusion. Two very respected makers collaborated on it though, so I'm sure it's top quality.

Would be interested as to the weight, and if it's sprung or cable... although sadly it's a bit out of my price range at the moment.

It is 8 5/8 long, sprung, and weighs 14.25 oz. Thanks for the input and the reminder to add important info to my post.
