Hi guys,
Another cool piece of history here...
This one is forged from turret rim ball bearing of M18 "Hellcat", and i've tried to forge it to be a simple EDC user, with nice two tone vertical carry sheath.

It's covered in this thread:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...12508-Hellcats

Blade is treated as 52100.
Flats are left raw, just soaked overnight in vinegar and wire brushed after forging. After heat treatment, flats are brushed with scotch brite.
Bevels are made in satin finish with scotch brite.

Details:

Overall length - 8"
Blade length - 3 [SUP]5/8[/SUP]"
Blade width - 1 [SUP]1/32[/SUP]"
Thickness at the back of the spine - 5/32"
Tang is tapered to 3/64" at the end

Knife itself weights 3,8 oz, and with sheath it's 7,2 oz

For handle material i used walnut ,red G10 liners, brass pins and lanyard tube.
Handmade 13/64" thick vegetable leather sheath in red and black color, made for right hand vertical carry.
