I had been looking for one of these for years and finally found one. When I purchased it, the seller said he actually had two…so naturally I had to buy both. I don’t really need two and I’m going to be selling off a large chunk of my collection to fund a wedding. Soooo…I’m offering one up for someone else who may have been searching for years as I did.
This is an extremely rare and original Brygs Guardfather Spike from the 1980’s made in Italy. This version is heavy hardened steel and is NOT one of the cheap versions that are currently available on the market. The hardened steel spike is deployed by pressing the pocket clip. To retract the spike, you need to press the release button and then push the spike against a hard surface to lock it in place. It still fires extremely hard.
There are a few marks on the spike from deploying it, as you would expect from a 1980’s production. Sadly, I do not have the original paperwork. I have seen these go for up to $1000 depending on where (and IF) you can find one. As I said, I have been searching for a long time for one. I am asking $800 OBO shipped to your door in order to recoup the amount I spent. I accept PPFF, Venmo and Zelle. I am not looking for trades unless you have a Winkler RnD with front spike you’re looking to part with. The Guardfather will be shipped with the spike in the relaxed position so as not to fire in transit.
