Hi Folks!
A new variant on a traditional Scottish Sgian Dubh - the 'Coruisk'. Co-designed with one of my good customers, Cornel Bebie. The 'Coruisk' features a long, slim blade with a high satin sheen finish, a flared, solid bolster, an accent spacer and pommel. The 'Coruisk' has an elegant and dressy feel compared to the more rustic 'Scavaig' design.
The nickel silver bolster is solid and not just a ferrule (metal band around the wood). Behind the bolster is a spacer of stabilised Mammoth Bone - thousands of years old. The handle centre is luxurious Ebony and the pommel is stabilised Bog Oak that is between 2000 and 5000 years old and also features a decorative mosaic pin at the back. This Sgain Dubh is an ancient one! The handle pin has been peined, domed and polished to a satin finish with detailed filework on the spine. The sheath is also 100% handmade with saddle stitching and embossed Celtic motif to match the color and feel of the knife.
