soldering nickel silver help

Treat it like brass; silver solder (braze) it pretty much the same as silver, copper or brass with fluxes and "solders" used in silver work. You can also use the low temp tin/lead solders and fluxes (plumber stuff, not brazing) if you want, but won't get any strength. Depends on your application/needs. Whatcha makin'?

I think Stay-Brite should work. Use the flux that's sold with it (zinc chloride, tinners flux). Melts @ 435 F. Alloy of silver and tin.

There was a decent article by Wayne Goddard in "Blade" magazine about a month ago. Maybe you can find it in an internet search?

thanks guys. I will sacrifice a goat, and then consult my soldering/welding guru for personal assistance brazing/stay-brite-ing it.

Nickel silver is , after all, a copper, zinc, nickel alloy so ther shouldn't be any great problems. The 'silver ' part of nickel silver is a misnomer. The tin/silver soft solders should work along with flux for stainless steel.
