Some Buck 112 Love

James, that is a fine herd of Bucks.

Pete...that one certainly belongs here. Preston

45 years old this year. :)

1988 was the 25th anniversary of the 110...you're saying 'what the ....' this is 112 love thread...yes it is, bare with me, I continue.

Buck included the 112 in the 25th for the 110:eek:! They had the blade printed with 'Buck's Famous Ranger, 1963-1988, 25th Anniversary'. Now, we all know the 112 wasn't introduced until 1972, so, I'll bet there are some interesting stories around this fiasco.

None the less, the two are nice knives, Macassar ebony and nickel silver bolsters. Here they are. Preston

It's also funny that the rangers stamp is for '86. Mine is the same way.

The 25th was the source of many nickel silver frame customs..It was by far the easiest to find in the 90's simply because there were only a handful of runs of NS 112's. There was a run of nickel silver 112 'Workman' I've seen one or two pictures of but never the knife. A run for Walmart too but I don't remember the details of that one..Such love in this thread! !!

I have EDC'ed a red Ecolite 112 just in my back pocket with my wallet that held it up straight. ...most of the time. In my front pocket it would occasionally set off the alarm in my car from my keys ..I've seen a few thinned 112's with a clip and without that looked like it would work better.

I didn't have any 112s. So I bought these 4 when they came out a few months back.

But I didn't like the cheap nylon sheath that came with them so never carried them.

I finally got around to making a decent sheath for them.

I would like to see a 112 with the DynaFlex rubber handle that's on the Bucklite Max Knives.

Well loved early model 112FG:

Found on the auction site in neglected, then abused condition. Someone apparently sand blasted the exterior and used a cheap electric knife "sharpener" to destroy the edge. The photos are after much hand sanding with 400 grit and re-sharpening; still has about 10% blade loss but is a hard-to-find model in decent condition.
