yep. it looks better now :)

Happy Thanksgiving to the Koyote clan... Can't wait to see the finished product! Are you still doing the small horizontal belt sheath with that? BTW, that Trail Knife looks awesome...

first pass on the buffer:

late night photos.... but tempering gets done when it gets done.

the bushbeater seax and smaller LBK are getting handles tomorrow and then I can spend a nice late night helping Sierra finish the sheaths and send them out to Anchorage FAST.

the leuku--- well. dude. look at that bad boy!

Christof, you are always gripping them knives like its for all you are worth. I keep imagining your face with your eyes squeezed shutt and face grimaced. I almost never want to shake your hand, for fear that you will grip it in the vulcan death grip like you do with each photograph of your hand on one of your knives ;)

Lets loosen those fingers a bit.....:D I like that bush beater!

nah, that's just the kettlebells. they do things to your grip- especially with you lift them with the bell balanced on top :)

That's a lot of great looking steel. LBK is looking great, what's the thickness on that one?

that one is also 5160, it's the SERE variant- currently looking at .180 on the tang, full distal taper. should finish up a hair less, I'm expecting .170 maybe .165.

that's: 3/16 roughly current and 11/64 expected final. a hair over 5/32 which is the nominal design goal.

I may make an extra few minutes on an 80 grit to work that in and then make myself an extra hour of work getting the bonus scratches out of the blade :D

for reference, the CLBK came out at between at 13/64 (sanded 7/32)

When I get around to the dirks, I'm actually thinking of going .25 at the rear of the tang and doing a taper through the tang and blade aiming for 3/16 about 2/3 of the way to the tip.

That one in #362 is a little out of character (though awesome nonetheless). Also, I think that is the largest leuku I have ever seen.

it's a .... different kind of knife. I've done some longer fighters, but wanted something beefy and short for this one. The SERE model is more handy.

I do like the blue spacers in with the black, though.

The leuku is... big. it's going to be a lot of fun in the snow!

really quick morning shots I took a few hours ago- before the handle glue up- I'll get the rough handle glue up shots once the clamps come off.

here's a set I'm working on once again-

The pattern in the handles isn't highly visible yet, I've got some 220 and 320 work to do before adding more coats of tung oil and hitting the fine work. This is with one coat of oil on and about to be wrapped so the sheaths can bewaterformed around them.

Large one is approx 21.5 inches OAL with a blade length of 21.5 inches. The LBK (SERE model) is 10 inches with a 4.5 inch blade, approximately. (I forgot to measure until they were all wrapped up in saran wrap...)

no photos today? Well, keeping really busy and forgot to take piccies. More tomorrow.

Needham: the sheath is....ridiculously cute. it's almost like a miniature build.

The piggyback rig is... 17 feet of hand stitching....it's coming along

are my machetes in there anywhere :)
