I am looking for a good source for 410 stainless flat bar for a few San Mai projects.
I did find a bit of round bar and am wondering if that can be drawn down and used as well.

Admiral Steel ( https://www.admiralsteel.com/shop/ ) has both 410 and 416 SS. Problem the 410 they have is max at .062", which might be good if you're wanting for thin blades. I've been using 416SS which works good, but have read 410 SS is slightly better.

McMaster-Carr has it, but you could probably find it cheaper elsewhere.

Possibly tru grit in Ontario California

I think you can stack the thinner material to make a thicker billet. Not sure on this...

Online metals has 410 in a bunch of shapes and sizes.
I have ordered 416 and mild steel from them and been happy with it.
Actually I got some A2 from them recently also.

I'm just getting into it so I'm going to stay as simple as possible. Not sure if simple and San Mai should be used in the same sentence....
