So, I wanted to add one of these knives into my collection for quite a few years, which I had not done until now.
The first time I saw one being offered online, was on a knife vendor's website, a vendor which since then went way of the DoDo Bird.
I think the firm was called WorldKnives, or something like that, and I had already purchased a Forge De Laguiole and an Otter Messer Anchor Knife from them, (with good results). I had ordered the knife from them, but they emailed me with an apology that it was actually not in stock.
Anyhow, that brings me to this one I received a few days ago. I saw it on another vendor's website, one that mostly deals in selling knives made by custom knife makers, but that also dabbles in other new and used knives.
This one was listed as mint/unused condition, but not having it's original box.
I received it with a factory sticker still placed on it's handle telling it's scales as being Buffalo Horn, (a sticker that I removed minutes after receiving the knife),
The knife is tight, having no blade play in any direction, and indeed came to me as described, mint with no blemishes.
I had read many reviews over the years about these knives by Joker of Spain, and to be honest, they gave me the impression that they were very much hit or miss, (that box of chocolates thing), not knowing what'cha gonna get!
The Falcon of Italy lockback Stiletto knives were like this too, my having been happy with a few, but a couple that I received were very much lacking in their fitment.

So, based on the reviews I had read concerning Joker knives, I knew it would be the hit or miss gamble with these too.
But, I decided to try my luck anyway to see if a decent specimen would arrive to me... and it did. The overall fit & finish is pretty nice.

Because of this, I now have two other Joker knives headed my way, another Navaja type like this one, (but with Stag Scales), and a Stag handled Bowie type knife. These two will be brand new in the box from another vendor.
Anyhow, I just wanted to add in a few representations of Spain made Joker knives into my collection, and have my fingers crossed that the incoming specimens are as decently made as this one 🤞

I "borrowed" these two pics below off of the internet, they showing representations of the other two Joker knives I placed my orders for.

The folding model, (called 'Sevillana'), is the same model designation as the knife I already received above. The difference is in the handle materials, (Buffalo Horn vs. Stag). Also, I believe the one I already received is made with a 440A steel blade, where as my new incoming version seems to have a European 420HC equivalent steel for it's blade.

The other incoming, (a fixed blade Bowie type knife), will also be in Stag handle form.

Nice! Welcome to the club😂

Thanks! 😁

I must admit, since first seeing their brand name, (Joker), I've thought to myself how poor of a marketing tool that is for them.
But, I guess it is what it is. They seem to be doing pretty good with their branching out into quite a few offerings for the Bushcraft crowd.
They are obviously trying to cater more to markets that they may see as more profitable. I wonder if their more traditional lines will shrink in the process.

I don't think the brand is much of a seller here in the USA, based on the few reviews that can be found on them on big seller website's... But, maybe I'm wrong thinking that... I dunno!

Btw, please share some pics of your specimen(s)... Would like to see more of them 😊

Do those actually stay securely closed? I have a JJ Martinez and an Esparcia that have a lot of free play in the blade when closed. Its not possible to safely carry them in your pocket....

I only have the one specimen in the pic I shared above. It's tight on opening and closing, and stays firmly seated when open or closed, but I don't know what the average norm on these knives are.
Hope somebody will chime in and give us a better scoop 😊

I uploaded this one to the Stag Saturday thread last weekend. A tight little lockback with a nice finish. By the way... I live in Spain, and the Joker brand is quite popular here, although knife carry is illegal if the blade is longer than 8 cm., a little over 3 inches.

Thanks for sharing your photo, and for sharing the information about the Joker's popularity in Spain 👍

I have tried to find this one online just by guessing with the photo. Can you tell me the exact model so I can find one. Many thanks.

I'm afraid this one's been out of production for a long time. I bought mine 10+ years ago.

These types of knives are traditional to Spain, so, if they're decently made, it's really no different than buying a modern day era made traditional patterned knife with the branding of Case, Canal Street, Queen, or a GEC. I mean, if one buys a 2021 Case made Trapper, it won't be a vintage or antique item, but it will be a true traditional patterned pocket knife.
I personally see no difference with that and buying a Joker branded traditional Spanish patterned pocket knife. These Navaja type knives made by Joker, are based on the evolution of the Spanish ratchet type locking Navajas. These types of knives fit right into the Spanish heritage, like the Trapper pattern fits into the American heritage. Another example of this is the traditional French Laguiole patterned knife, which is a heritage knife that is still made and available from France today.
That's just my opinion/two cents concerning this topic 😊

I bought a couple of Joker knives last year, about the size of an Opinel no.7, with Opinel-style locking collars. They have the flattened sides that some Opinel modifiers strive for, and carry very nicely in the pocket.

I received my other Joker folder today, which again, is the same model as the first one I received last week, (only the handle scale material is different).

Now I'm just waiting for my fixed blade Bowie style 'Joker' knife to arrive, and then I'll be all good in having Joker brand representations in my collection 👍

I received my fixed blade Spanish made Bowie style knife today. It's a Joker model 'Zorro', which translates to 'Fox' in English.
I find it overall to have been nicely made, including it having a very sharp factory edge.
The blade is made of stainless steel, as is the guard and pommel.

Well, this now completes my delving into Spanish made 'Joker' brand knives for the purpose of adding them into my collection 👍
