I just received this today and thought I would share pictures other than the stock ones from online sellers. Also, when searching the forums for the word "Damysus", there were no results. At least now there will be some limited results and pictures.

I thought they we too expensive in the $195 price range, but recently they can be had for around $120, which seems like a pretty good deal to me.

The powder-coating is smooth and very even, but at some point I'll probably etch and strip. For now I'm going to try and leave well enough alone.

Thanks for sharing. I'm a big Spartan fan and I fully recognize that they are expensive and some find them over priced. That said, the price on this line done by Ka-bar is too high for me in regard to what you get. The price you list seems much more reasonable. I didn't look real hard but I couldn't find one at the normal supporting dealers (and please don't mention where you got it if it is not a supporting dealer). Seems like good competition for the Esee 6.

I saw gideonstactical review and he said the sheath had issues. How is yours?

I saw that review too. The belt loop was the first thing I removed. I didn't try to snap/unsnap it. I would prefer a Tek-Lock anyway. The sheath itself felt like decent quality.

Of course I could not leave well enough alone. There was a small spot at the tip where there was powdercoat missing. You can see the glint in the pictures. I just finished 9V etching and have it soaking in Citristrip.

Pics!

And how is that retention thingy on the sheath (button or whatever it is)? I generally hate when companies try to do those (I'm looking at you benchmade). Does it work well? Is it sturdy?

I'll attached pics once it's fully stripped. I tried to attach a video of the sheath retention below. Hopefully it works.

The button/thumb tab is spring loaded and locks against the jimping on the spine of the blade. When you slide the thumb tab, the lock disengages from the jimping. It feels natural but I'm not sure how rugged it is. If it fails, it's not like the knife would be stuck in the sheath. It just would not retain it. At this point, the sheath is probably the only thing that is still under warranty. :D
